Product Introduction
The Water-Recirculating sheet former is a laboratory handsheet preparation device designed in accordance with QB/T 3703-1999, ISO 5269/2&3, TAPPI T-205 and related standards. It forms pulp into standard φ200 mm circular test sheets. The integrated automatic water-fill, white water recirculation, and air-bubble mixing system ensure uniform fiber distribution and dense sheet structure. Built with a 304 stainless steel frame and polymer wet parts, it combines corrosion resistance with ease of operation. It is well-suited for pulp evaluation, paper R&D, quality control, and educational demonstration.
Key Features
Multi-standard Compliance: Conforms to QB/T 3703-1999, ISO 5269/2&3, TAPPI T-205, and more, ensuring handsheets are produced under internationally accepted conditions.
Efficient Mixing System: Standard air-bubble mixing provides excellent fiber dispersion; manual mixing mode also available for specialty fibers and non-standard procedures.
Water Recirculation Design: White water is collected and reused for the next sheet, significantly reducing water consumption and fiber/fines loss, making long-term operation economical and eco-friendly.
200 mm Diameter Forming Cylinder: Made from high-durability polymer, rust-free and wear-resistant. Combined with silicone gaskets and mechanical cam-lock progressive pressing, it eliminates leakage and delivers clean, fuzz-free sheet edges.
Stainless Steel Construction: Frame and integrated water tank are 304 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and easy to clean, ideal for high-frequency lab use.
Flexible Vacuum Options: Supports both natural vacuum filtration and external vacuum pump connection (pump not included), allowing users to adjust dewatering speed as needed.
Safe and Convenient: Mobile water tank with casters; manual or automatic drainage selection for flexible workflow.

FAQ
1. Uneven sheet, unstable basis weight
Fluctuating water flow, poorly dispersed stock, or unlevel screen. Pre-disintegrate pulp thoroughly, stabilize water flow, and level the screen.
2. Holes, missing edges, or tears in sheet
Undispersed fiber clumps or debris, excessively fast drainage, rough sheet removal. Fully defiber the pulp, control drainage rate, and handle wet sheets gently.
3. Water leakage from forming cylinder
Aged silicone gasket, misaligned cylinder, loose clamps. Replace gasket, align cylinder, and tighten clamps securely.
4. Weak or slow water recirculation
Clogged inlet filter or water tank, scale buildup in pump. Regularly clean filter, tank, and piping.
5. Slow vacuum dewatering, low suction
Blocked vacuum pump filter, air leaks in lines, high water level in tank. Check line seals and drain accumulated water.
6. Excessive bubbles, uneven forming
Air entrapment from overly rapid filling. Pour slurry slowly and steadily to minimize turbulence.
7. Stiff or noisy column movement
Dust buildup on guides, lack of lubrication, loose fasteners. Clean guides, apply light lubrication, and retighten screws periodically.
8. Murky water affecting subsequent sheets
Prolonged use without changing recirculated water. Drain and replace water after each experiment, flush tank and tubing.

The laboratory sheet former (handsheet former) is a fundamental piece of equipment in pulp and paper research for converting pulp into standard paper samples. Its principle involves injecting a specified amount of pulp suspension into a forming cylinder, where rapid dewatering occurs on a wire support. The fibers are uniformly deposited to form a wet sheet, which is then pressed and dried to obtain a standard paper sample. The water-circulating handsheet former incorporates a white water recirculation system, allowing the filtered water to be recovered and reused for redilution. This not only saves water but also reduces the loss of fine fibers and fillers, making the sheet properties more representative of actual paper machine production conditions. The prepared paper samples can be used for subsequent tests such as physical strength, optical properties, and air permeability, making this device essential for evaluating pulp quality, optimizing refining processes, and developing new paper grades. The method is standardized by ISO 5269 series, TAPPI T-205, and QB/T 3703, ensuring comparability of results across different laboratories.
