Product Introduction
The friction coefficient tester operates on the horizontal sliding method principle. A specimen of specified dimensions is fixed on the testing platform. A standard sled (63×63mm, 200±2g) is placed on the specimen surface and pulled horizontally at a constant speed of 100mm/min±1% by a drive system. A high-precision imported force sensor captures real-time friction force data during the sliding process. The microcomputer system automatically calculates and displays the static and kinetic friction coefficients. A specially designed synchronous belt drive system ensures smooth operation, with force curves displayed in real time on the LCD screen. After testing, test reports can be instantly printed via the micro-printer, or data can be transmitted to a computer via the RS232 interface for further analysis.

FAQ
1. What materials can the Friction Coefficient Tester measure?
It is primarily used to measure the static and kinetic friction coefficients of plastic films and sheets, and can also be used for friction coefficient determination of other similar sheet materials such as paper, textiles, and rubber.
2. What is the difference between static and kinetic friction coefficients?
The static friction coefficient is the ratio of the maximum friction force to the normal force when two contact surfaces begin to slide relative to each other, reflecting the ease of starting movement. The kinetic friction coefficient is the ratio of the friction force to the normal force during sustained sliding, reflecting the friction characteristics during continuous sliding.
3. Is the test speed of 100mm/min adjustable?
The standard test speed is 100mm/min±1%, complying with relevant standard specifications. For special speed requirements, please consult our technical team for customization options.
4. How is data exported and printed?
The instrument is equipped with a micro-printer for instant printing of real-time or historical test reports. An RS232 serial port is also provided for external computer real-time data acquisition and export, facilitating data management and further analysis.

5. Can the sled mass and dimensions be changed?
The standard sled has dimensions of 63×63mm and a mass of 200±2g, complying with GB/T 10006 and other standard specifications. For sleds with other specifications, please consult us for customization.
6. Does the instrument require regular calibration?
Periodic force calibration using standard weights is recommended to ensure measurement accuracy remains within 0.001N. We provide calibration guidance and after-sales support.

The coefficient of friction is a critical physical parameter characterizing the surface slip performance of materials, directly affecting the openability, machine runnability, and stacking stability of products such as plastic films and packaging materials on automated packaging lines. An excessively high friction coefficient can cause difficulties in bag opening and film transport on packaging machines; an excessively low friction coefficient can lead to stack slippage or inadequate bag sealing. Therefore, accurately determining the static and kinetic friction coefficients of materials is essential for optimizing film formulations, controlling additive levels, and ensuring the stability of packaging production processes and product quality. Standards such as GB/T 10006-2021 and ISO 8295:1995 define unified test methods and equipment requirements, using the horizontal sliding method for measurement. Modern friction coefficient testers employ microcomputer control and high-precision sensor technology, achieving fully automated and digitized testing processes. They are widely used in R&D, quality inspection, and production process control in industries such as plastic films, packaging materials, textiles, and paper.
