    Fluter

The Fluter is a precision laboratory device specifically designed for producing standard A-flute corrugated waveforms from corrugating medium. After fluting, the specimens can be tested with a compression tester to determine CMT (Concora Medium Test) and CCT (Corrugated Crush Test) values. The instrument complies with QB 1061, GB/T 2679.6, and ISO 7263 standards. The working speed is 4.5 r/min, adjustable. The gear profile is Type A, with an upper tooth radius of 1.50±0.1 mm, lower tooth radius of 2.00±0.1 mm, and tooth depth of 4.75±0.05 mm. The working temperature is adjustable from 0 to 200...

Product Introduction
The fluter operates on a precision gear hot-press forming principle. Corrugating medium is pressed into a standard A-flute waveform using heated precision Type A gears. The instrument uses single-chip microcomputer control technology with a high-precision PID temperature control system that precisely controls heating temperature (standard 175±8°C), featuring automatic temperature compensation and over-temperature protection. The precision gear transmission mechanism is motor-driven, with an adjustable working speed of 4.5 r/min. The spring tension of 100 N combined with adjustable working pressure (49-108 N) ensures consistent flute formation. The fluted specimens can then be tested with a compression tester for CMT and CCT determination to evaluate the fluting performance and compressive strength of corrugating medium.

FAQ
1. What is the function of the Fluter?
The Fluter is used to press corrugating medium into standard A-flute waveforms under laboratory conditions. The fluted specimens can then be tested with a compression tester to determine CMT (Concora Medium Test) and CCT (Corrugated Crush Test), evaluating the fluting performance and compressive quality of corrugating medium.
2. Why is the standard heating temperature 175±8°C?
175°C is the standard setting that simulates the actual production temperature of corrugated board production lines. At this temperature, the corrugating medium fully softens and forms, while ensuring flute consistency and comparability. ±8°C is the permissible temperature fluctuation range.
3. How is the working pressure adjusted?
The working pressure is adjustable from 49 to 108 N based on the type and grammage of the corrugating medium. Combined with the 100 N spring tension, the appropriate fluting pressure is set via the pressure adjustment device to ensure full and consistent flute formation.

4. What are the advantages of PID temperature control?
PID control offers fast response speed and high steady-state accuracy. The automatic temperature compensation mode eliminates the influence of ambient temperature changes on temperature control precision, ensuring consistent heating conditions for each fluting operation and improving test result reproducibility.
5. How are comb accessories replaced and maintained?
Combs are consumable accessories that may wear after extended use. The standard configuration includes one comb set. Replacement involves removing the old comb and installing the new one following the steps in the instruction manual. Original spare combs are always available from our company.
6. How are CMT and CCT tested after fluting?
The fluted corrugating medium specimens must be tested with a compression tester. For CMT, the specimen is placed flat for compression; for CCT, the specimen is placed upright for compression. Refer to GB/T 2679.6 and ISO 7263 standards for specific operating methods.

The fluting performance of corrugating medium is one of the key factors determining the quality of corrugated board and the compressive strength of boxes. In corrugated board production lines, the corrugating medium is heated, moistened, and mechanically formed into a fluted waveform before being bonded to linerboard to produce corrugated board. The laboratory fluter is a specialized device that simulates this process, using precision Type A gears under standard temperature and pressure to press corrugating medium into standard fluted waveforms, providing standardized specimens for evaluating the fluting quality and compressive performance of corrugating medium. After fluting, the CMT (Concora Medium Test) and CCT (Corrugated Crush Test) values determined with a compression tester are two core indicators for corrugating medium classification and selection. CMT reflects the crush resistance of the formed corrugating medium, while CCT reflects its strength under edgewise compression. These two indicators directly relate to the Edge Crush Test (ECT) of corrugated board and the Box Compression Test (BCT) of boxes, serving as important references for corrugating medium quality control and box design material selection.
